Prairie cord grass
Native to freshwater marshes and wet prairies throughout the northern United States.
A warm season grower, blooming in late July and August. Produces stiff, open panicles.
To 2.1m tall in flower. Leaves to 15mm wide, dark green and glossy. Suited for use at the
edges of ponds or water gardens. Best in full sun on moist soils but tolerates average or
dry soils. Also salt tolerant.
