Narrow plume grass
Native to marshes and wet places on the coastal plain from Virginia south to Florida and Texas,
and north into Tennessee and Missouri. Strictly upright, blooming late summer to 2.1m tall,
the inflorescence narrow, to 40cm long, very silvery on drying. Awns straight. Prefers full
sun, well-drained soil, with regular moisture. Autumn foliage deep purple-red to dark orange.
