Luzula ulophylla (Juncaceae)

Native to New Zealand, this evergreen dwarf perennial rush is densely tufted and forms a low mound of linear deep green leaves with silvery hairs beneath and on the margins. Dark brown flowers with white margins in early summer. Plant in moist but well drained soil in partial or deep shade. Makes an excellent groundcover plant for shady areas.
