Greater wood-rush.
Native to oak woodlands, open moorlands, streamsides, and other acid habitats in
the British Isles, and in western, central, and southern Europe, the Caucasus, and Turkey.
The largest and finest of the wood-rushes for groundcover use, especially in shaded settings.
Forms large tussocks and spreads strongly by rhizomes, eventually making a virtually weed-proof
mass.
