Fordmouth Croft
Ornamental Grass Nursery
Welcome to our 2007 catalogue. The Nursery offers a comprehensive range of ornamental grasses,
sedges and rushes suitable for container displays and large gardens.
The plants are listed alphabetically by botanical name and are accompanied by a brief description giving their size and hardiness. The RHS Award of Garden Merit symbol is shown against a number of our plants. This award is given to plants that demonstrate outstanding qualities, eg easily grown and free from pests and diseases, making them suitable for most types of garden. Our website includes photographs of some of the plants we offer and we will be adding to these over the coming months. Click to download our catalogue. The Nursery Fordmouth Croft Ornamental Grass Nursery is situated in the small village of Meikle Wartle, some 8 miles northwest of Inverurie, Aberdeenshire. It is surrounded by farmland with views to the Bennachie Range. The Nursery was set up in 2003 as a mail order supplier with a view to providing a wide range of grasses, sedges and rushes, grown to a high standard and capable of withstanding the cold climate of the northeast of Scotland! The vast majority of the stock is grown from seed, on an annual basis, and potted into Levington's compost to which garden grit has been added to aid drainage and pot stability. Plant Prices and Sizes All plants are available in 9cm pots. Some are also available in 11cm and 13cm pots and these are listed where applicable. However, this is not a definitive list of grasses, so if there is something in particular you are looking for please contact us as it may be something we have available but only in very small quantities. The prices in the catalogue are appropriate to the plant size most likely to be on sale during 2005. Click to download our catalogue.
