This tuft-forming species is native to Europe, including Scandinavia. The stem is 3-angled
and nodding. The leaves are keeled, sharp-pointed and yellow-green. The bracts are leaflike
and longer than the spikes but shorter than the inflorescences. Useful in shaded areas of the
garden.
