Carex pseudocyperus (Cyperaceae)

Cyperus sedge

This native of temperate regions is tufted and grows up to 75cm. The stems are 3-angled and rough. Leaves are flat and yellow-green with the lower sheaths pale brown. The bracts are leaflike, 3-4 times longer that the inflorescences. Spikes are cylindrical and somewhat pendulous.
