Carex ornithopoda 'Variegata' (Cyperaceae)

Native to Europe. Tufted narrow green leaves, striped white. Diminutive, to 20cm tall, slow-growing, well suited to rock gardens. Sometimes confused in the nursery trade with young plants of Carex oshimensis 'Evergold'.
