Carex arenaria

Sand sedge
A native of north and west Europe, this species can creep great distances, like Carex acuta.
The dark green leaves are up to 60cm long and 1.5 - 3.5mm wide, flat and recurved, or keeled,
tapering to a 3-angled tip. Lower sheaths dark brown. The inflorescences are dense, to 8cm,
and the bracts bristle-pointed.
